#2 -  GWAITHFOED OF MEIRIONYDD

Bartrum shows his favored pedigree as:

"Cadifor ap Genillin ap Gwaithfoed as Elffin ap Gwyddno garanhir"

     In his notes, he says:

"Gwaithfoed of Meirionydd (born c. 1100-30.  He was the father of Gynillin, and ancestor of families in Ystumanner, (Dwnn ii, 245, 275)

In our paper "Sorting out the Gwaithfoeds"[1], we conclude this man was the father of Genillin and the son of Eunydd ap Cadifor ap Peredur Beiswrydd ap Einion ap Eunydd ap Pyll ap Sandde ap Gwyddno; this Sandde also appears in the pedigree of Cynddelw ap Einion. (Patriarch #1 in this series) We date the birth of this Gwaithfoed as c. 1100.
