             TUDOR TREFOR AND HIS FAMILY

The Clan of Tudor Trefor

Presents corrections to the "traditional" biography of Tudor Trefor, the Powys baron who held the lands which border England.  He descended from a junior branch of the First Powys Royal Dynasty.

Madog Danwr, Lord of Llangurig Parish

Seeks to de-conflate the Clofachen and Dolfachwen branches of this family, who repeated a series of the same male names one generation apart.  These families were the only major group of Tudor Trefor's early descendants to take up residence on lands in southern Powys which were never held by Tudor himself.

Cynwrig ap Rhiwallon

Discusses pre-1300 Welsh men named Cynwrig ap Rhiwallon, with an emphasis on 6 such men who descended from Tudor Trefor, and seeks to assign cited children to the correct man of this name.

Ancestry of Ieuaf ap Adda ap Awr of Trevor

Reviews two pedigrees which conflict as to the ancestry of the men who held the manors of Trefor and Llys Trefor (birthplace or early residence of Tudor Trefor) in the 13th century.  Posits that a non-cited marriage carried the manors from descendants of Llyddocca ap Tudor Trefor to descendants of Dyngad ap Tudor Trefor.
