BARTRUM'S "PEDIGREES of the WELSH TRIBAL PATRIARCHS"

In Volume XIII, No. 2 (1963)
of the National Library of Wales Journal, Peter Barturm suggested the correct pedigrees for 71 men not usually considered
to have been kings, but who were the "patriarch" to whom many later families trace their lineage. That
work, together with his 1966 book "Early Welsh Genealogical Tracts" formed his starting point for his 1972 classic, "Welsh
Genealogies AD 300 - 1400".
Following our own work in which
we used the same original source materials to construct chronologically stable pedigrees for the same families, we herewith
share our conclusions which are often a bit different....and sometimes wholly different....from those reached by Bartrum.
NOTE: Over the coming
months, we will present a separate analysis of each of the 71 men selected by Bartrum, beginning with #1 and adding others
as we complete our analysis.
